Cause And Effect

Cause-and-effect describes a relationship between actions or events in which at least one action or event is a direct result of the others.

Or we can also say,

Cause and effect  is a relationship between events or things, where one is the result of the other or others. This is a combination of action and reaction. Basic competence 3.24

Analyzing social functions, text structures, and linguistic elements of spoken and written transactional interaction texts involving the act of giving and asking for information related to causal relationships, according to the context of their use

The objectives of this study are:

1.       Students are able to  analyze social functions, text structures and linguistic elements to state Cause and Effect according to the context of their use independently.

2.       Students are able to  arrange text with Cause and Effect relationship.

3.       Students are able to  make sentences Cause and Effect directly with responsibility.

Now, learn the explaination below :

When we talk about  cause and effect, we have to know signal words or  linking words (kata penghubung) in grammar. Linking words/signal words divide into four groups:

Coordinating conjunction : for (cause), so (effect)

Subordinating conjunction : because, since, as (cause)

Conjunctive adverbs : therefore, consequently (effect)

Prepositions : because of, due to (cause)

We can easily identify sentences that contain cause-and-effect relationships if there are words or phrases such as:

Because of

due to

thanks to

owing to

as a consequence of

as a result of
